Two recent articles on “Tan” and “Talks” have aroused the concern of Chinese language enthusiasts. One is found in the “Guangming Daily” (reproduced, the original source did not test), entitled “Why not talk about”; a found in the “weekend”, entitled “Tan” and “talk” universal beginning When? “ The former holds that Tang Wuzong’s name Li Yan and the right half of ”Tan“ are ”Yan“. The Tang people rewritten ”Tan“ as ”Tan“ due to the taboos for avoiding the ” . The latter thinks that as early as in the Western Jin Dynasty, “Tan” had been connected with “talk”, which was not common to the Tang and Wuzong era. Therefore, the author has nothing to do with taboo, but the author only quoted the documentary evidence in the dictionaries, The ins and outs. For this reason, this publication specially invited the editorial board member Jin Wenming to make the textual criticism, now the opinion of Mr. Jin is published in the next, for the reader friend reference. “Guangming Daily” and “Weekend” two articles are also summarized together.
