选用速生树种柠檬按造林替代紫茎泽兰试验以来,五年间共有三千多农户参加造林14636亩,控制害草面积达到8000多亩,经抽样调查造林成活保存率均达85%以上,紫茎泽兰生长密度降低了80%以上,其技术方法简单,而且经济省劳。新平县水塘、戛洒、腰街和漠沙等低热河谷地区,凡在宜林荒山或丢荒地,多被紫茎泽兰蔓延、侵占,严重地影响群众生产生活,长期困扰着人们的思想,成为农牧业十分突出的一个问题。根据省科委对开展紫茎泽兰防除途径课题的研究精神,我县自1984年开始,在热区选用柠檬桉造林替代紫茎泽兰试验以来,1984—1986年共有3062户(联户)造林14636亩,控制害草面积达8000多亩,经抽样调查造林成活保存率均达85%以上,紫茎泽兰的生长密度降低了80%以上,害草恶性蔓生的现象得到了明显的控制,现状大为改观。1987—1988年又完成柠檬桉造林面林9238亩,替代面积194亩,深受干部群众的欢迎。
