In the Soviet Union shipbuilding industry using electric or hydraulic cranes. The use of DC motors, multi-speed asynchronous motors and motor-generator sets are all familiar with the motor type. Hydraulic transmission in the Soviet Union is a relatively new type of transmission, less experience. The comparative technical performance on the type of electric and hydraulic transmission has been fully elucidated in many documents. This article attempts to analyze the technical and economical performance of marine cranes hydraulic transmission and the new electric transmission. For this reason, the hydraulic cranes widely used on many dry cargo ships will be compared.
