经历了几年持续的讨论和争议之后,M+美术馆策划的“希克藏品:中国当代艺术40年”展先后于瑞士于默奥大学视觉博物馆和英国曼彻斯特惠特沃思艺术馆展出,并最终巡回到它的收藏所在地——香港。对于中国内地的当代艺术来说,香港常常被视为一个中转站,其融合了华人文化氛围与西方资本主义社会结构,是游离于主流意识形态之外的中间地带。上世纪90年代初,部分中国内地的当代艺术通过香港走入了国际视野,如今,这批作品又经过西方收藏家之手回到了香港。
After several years of continuous discussion and controversy, the exhibition “Sikh Collection: 40 Years of Chinese Contemporary Art” curated by the M + Gallery was exhibited at the Visual Museum at Umea University in Switzerland and the Whitworth Museum of Art in Manchester, England , And eventually tour to its collection location - Hong Kong. For contemporary art in mainland China, Hong Kong is often regarded as a transit point, which integrates the Chinese culture with the social structure of Western capitalism and is free from the mainstream ideology. In the early 1990s, some of the Mainland’s contemporary art came into Hong Kong through an international perspective. Nowadays, these works have returned to Hong Kong through the hands of Western collectors.
