Objective: To observe the effect of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on the recovery of gastrointestinal function after gynecological abdominal surgery. Methods: According to the random number table method, 90 cases of gynastic patients undergoing abdominal surgery were divided into control group and observation group. The control group was given warm boiled water during operation. The observation group was treated with Yiqitongfu decoction orally after operation. The first defecation time and anal exhaust time were compared between the two groups. The fatigue, abdominal pain, abdominal distension and nausea and vomiting were observed on the first and third days after operation in both groups. Results: The postoperative exhaust time and defecation time in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P <0.05). The exhaust time of patients in different operation groups was significantly lower than that in the control group (P <0.05) Nausea and vomiting and other symptoms were significantly alleviated, but the observation group was better than the control group (P <0.05). The symptom scores of the two groups were compared on the first day after operation (P> 0.05) and on the third day after operation (P <0.05). Conclusion: Oral administration of Chinese herbal medicine can accelerate the recovery of gastrointestinal function, promote postoperative defecation, expelling gas, improve postoperative fatigue and bloating abdominal pain and other symptoms. In addition, different surgical methods have some influence on the postoperative exhaust, so according to the actual situation of patients to choose a reasonable surgical approach and oral administration of traditional Chinese medicine to stimulate gastrointestinal function in patients with recovery and accelerate the rehabilitation process.
