This article discusses the method of direct high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis of Chinese proprietary medicine samples containing Strychnos nucifera via methanol reflux extraction. First, the instrument and sample experiment with Hitachi 635A high performance liquid chromatography, UV254 detector, 4 × 200mm stainless steel column, wet loading of Qingdao Marine Chemical Plant produced 10μ spherical silica gel, Hitachi 056 type recorder; Shimadzu QV-50 Ultraviolet spectrophotometer; standard products used in the United Kingdom (T8: H.SMITH LTD.London) produced by strychnine and Germany SERVA company strychnine reference standard, both analytical grade purity.
