Objective: To investigate the clinical effect of autologous dentin in repairing bone defects. Methods: Eighteen New Zealand rabbits (2.5-3 kg) were randomly divided into three groups. The autologous inferior incisor was used to prepare dentin tablets. The defect was made on the ipsilateral mandibular lower edge. Titanium nail was used for internal fixation of dentin tablets Defective area. At 1, 3 and 6 months postoperatively, radiography and histology were performed. Results: There was still a demarcation between dentin and bone tissue one and three months after operation, but the dentin slice was completely covered by bone tissue at 6 months. Radiological examination revealed that the low-density projection between dentin and bone tissue gradually disappeared with the prolongation of implantation time, and the high-density shadow gradually formed. Histology showed that the interface between dentin and bone tissue was vascularized, the dentin slice was gradually absorbed and new bone formed. CONCLUSION: A solid, internally-fixed, self-dentin tablet can restore bone defects as a material for the repair of bone defects.
