雍正八年十月后,宫中突然出现了斗坛,而且是建在雍正帝的寝宫养心殿西暖阁里,此后相继于乾清宫、澄瑞亭、钦安殿、深柳读书堂、雍和宫等处建造斗坛,本文对各斗坛的档案资料、供器及斗坛的陈设作了梳理,发现这与雍正帝病因有关系,并对斗坛所供斗母神的神性与科仪作了分析,认为“邪气缠身”的雍正帝是魂魄被魇魅摄走的体现,奏告主人魂魄的斗母,正是设坛礼斗的关键所在。雍正帝在建斗坛的同时也开始于圆明园烧炼丹药,但雍正帝服用丹药的历史可追溯至雍正四年。雍正十年时部分斗坛被拆除,十一年烧炼丹药的场所和规模扩大,且臻至疯狂。从雍正帝建斗坛到转而炼丹的过程看,宫中的道术活动实质上与他个人的身体状况密切相关,而且严重地危害了他的健康。
