Objective: To investigate the changes of T helper 17 (Th17) cells and regulatory T cells in patients with ankylosing spondylitis. METHODS: Flow cytometry was used to determine the ratio of peripheral T helper 17 and regulatory T cells in 24 patients with ankylosing spondylitis and 24 healthy controls who were admitted to the hospital from November 2014 to November 2015 Detection. Results: Th17 cell ratio, regulatory T cell ratio and Th17 cell / regulatory T cell ratio were significantly different between the two groups (P <0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Elevated 17% T-helper cells and a decrease in the percentage of regulatory T cells may be related to the pathogenesis of ankylosing spondylitis. After adjusting the balance between T-helper cells 17 and regulatory T cells, it is possible to become a new idea for the clinical treatment of patients with ankylosing spondylitis.
