宗光耀是著名外交官、武术家。1937年7月出生于陕西定边,毕业于芬兰赫尔辛基大学,60年代至80年代在中国驻芬兰和驻爱尔兰大使馆、外交部西欧公司工作过,曾任国务委员兼国务院港澳办公室主任姬鹏飞秘书。1989年底,宗光耀被派往澳门工作,先后担任新华社澳门分社副社长、中央人民政府驻澳门特别行政区联络办公室副主任。澳门回归前,他是澳门基本法起草委员会委员兼副秘书长、澳门政权交接和庆祝活动筹备委员会副主任。政权交接和特区政府成立时,他是中国政府代表团副秘书长,现场见证了澳门回归祖国的历史性时刻。
Zong Guangyao is a famous diplomat and martial artist. Born in July 1937 in Dingbian, Shaanxi Province, he graduated from the University of Helsinki, Finland. From the 1960s to the 1980s, he worked in the Chinese Embassy in Finland and in Ireland and in the Western European Office of the Foreign Ministry. He was Secretary of State for the State Council and Hong Kong and Macao Office of the State Council Ji Pengfei. In the end of 1989, Zong Guangyao was sent to work in Macao. He successively served as vice president of the Xinhua News Agency’s Macao Branch Office and deputy director of the liaison office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region. Before the return of Macao, he was a member and deputy secretary general of the drafting committee of the Macao Basic Law and the deputy director of the preparatory committee for handover and celebration of the Macao regime. When the regime was handed over and the SAR government was established, he was the deputy secretary-general of the Chinese government delegation and witnessed at the historic moment when Macao returned to the motherland.
