旧京理发业创始于清初。清兵入关后,定都北京,雄视天下的满人强令汉人按其习俗剃圈留辫。彼时奉圣旨而设的剃头棚遍布京城要道冲衙,勒令过往行人入内剃发。明朝遗民虽心有不甘,但在“留头不留发,留发不留头”刀斧威胁下不得不俯首任剃。及至民国,象征着封建愚昧专制的男人留发辫的现象没有了存在的氛围,而京城的理发业,大致发展为三种:一为挑担
