Based on the archaeological materials, this paper argues that the large architectural structures were reconstructed or enlarged twice after the big walled enclosure of the Yanshi Shang city had been built. The process of the three time consruction of the palatial architectural structures is very clear and the archaeological work also provides the earliest palace city and the relased accommodations such as water channels, storehouse for weapons etc. so far. Thus, the finding of the Yanshi Shang city is of significance in the study of the history of ancient capitals in China.
