French astronomers have built a man-made body with intense laser beams that revolutionize ground-based astronomy. Researchers at the Atlet Energy Commission’s Pierre Lart Laboratory focused the beam a little over the atmosphere about 90 km above the ground. This star is the fluorescence emitted by a laser beam that excites sodium atoms. The researchers believe that this technique can be used in astronomical observations to avoid the effects of atmospheric turbulence. air
