Effective power transmission gear is bound to produce a voice. Many solutions to gear noise focus on isolating the gearbox or changing its resonant frequency to reduce the amount of sound transmission and radiation generated during gear meshing. However, this article presents a more straightforward approach: to eliminate the noise produced by the engagement itself. Any effort to reduce your voice should start with the teeth. Typically, the voice from the gear teeth can be reduced to a small enough size by redesigning the gearbox, eliminating the need for further machining and costly corrections.
