The trade between tea and horse is based on the Ancient Tea Horse Road that runs through the present-day Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan Hengduan Mountains. The ancient trade with the horse and horse exchange as the main content and the caravan as the main transportation. It serves as an artery connecting the ancient transportation between the hinterland and Tibet. It is also a cultural artery of national integration. At that time, the important role of the tea-horse trade market in the military, political and economic fields made the central government of all ages attach great importance to the establishment of specialized laws and relevant institutions for the administration and strict control of the market for tea-horse trade. However, the more important role of the tea-horse trade in each other’s cities is to play an important historical role in consolidating the stability in the southwestern border and in safeguarding the unity of the various ethnic groups. This is of great significance to today’s national unity and the construction of a harmonious society.
