Maintaining humane ethics, taking evidence and collecting evidence according to law, attaching equal importance to both evidence and reason are the basic principles for the evidence system in the Tang Dynasty. The rules of evidence collection in the Tang Dynasty consisted of the rules of copying prisoners, the rules of secret evidence collection and the rules of forensic evidence. The rules of doubt, the rules of “five hearings” and the rules of “examination of the court” constitute the rules of the card in the Tang Dynasty.
