In recent years, an ancient Tu nationality castle in the Ming and Qing Dynasties discovered in Beizhuang Village, Wuzixiang, Huzhu Autonomous County, northeastern Qinghai Province, may have survived the most reliable surviving Tu family building currently. The ancient castle of Tu nationality deals well with the relationship between architecture and the surrounding environment. In terms of architecture, using the locally available natural resources to create space for villagers’ living is an excellent sample for studying the architectural form and the architectural environment of Tu nationality. The ancient castle has important value for understanding and researching the architectural environment and social customs of Tu nationality and related issues.
