Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) are widely present in the environment as a result of industrial production and can accumulate in organisms through the food chain. Women and children through the digestive tract intake of the substance, can lead to cancer, endocrine disorders, nerve damage and other diseases, and affect women’s reproductive health and children’s growth and development. Due to the complexity of metabolism of polybrominated diphenylethers in the body, its mechanism of metabolism and toxicity in the human body is not yet clear and needs to be confirmed by further studies.
