“Unbearable lightness in life” is one of the masterpieces of Milan Kundera. It refers directly to the predicament of human existence in modern society, that is, how human beings exist and to a large extent reflects Vico’s “poetic wisdom.” At the same time, however, it merely raised the question of how mankind should survive and did not make a philosophical answer. In the novel, the three kinds of contradictions have always been intertwined: the lightness and existence of existence, the conflict between spirit and flesh, the embarrassment of politics and kitsch. It can be seen that it posed philosophical propositions, but did not rise to a philosophy of life.
