Life politics is a concept proposed by Foucault in the later period. He used this concept to refer to the change of capitalist governance and advocated a relaxed and welfare political society. George Orwell’s “1984” is a political allegory novels, depicting a hypothetical totalitarian society that suffocates and scares the pursuit of power. From the perspective of life politics, this essay reexamines “1984” with three key words: exceptional status, life power and naked life.
