不久前,诺贝尔物理学奖得主杨振宁把他先后获得的11个国际奖项及一些个人文稿与信件赠予香港中文大学收藏。已经76岁的杨振宁在大肠动手术后开始考虑他获奖文稿的保存问题。几经考虑,杨振宁决定悉数赠给香港中文大学,让这些珍贵的文稿存在大学里,让青年学生参观、阅读。问起为什么会选中香港中文大学时,杨振宁说,从八十年代起,他就与香港中文大学建立了深厚的感情,他一直任该校的客座教授。谈到本世纪中国科技发展走过的道路,杨振宁说,20世纪中国在这方面的发展是从零开始的,就目前的发展应该说是“惊人的快”。他认为,科技的发展不是一两天的事,它依靠于雄厚的经济基础。目前内地、香港、台湾的研究经费还不能跟西方发达国家或日本相比,因此还需要一定时候的酝酿。尤其是要多些人对学术发生兴趣,多些讨论,形成学派,但可以预期的是,21世纪中国的科技将取得辉煌的成就。杨振宁说,中国人读书的能力强,从小就接受了良好、系
