木手术的特点是将内括约肌及直肠全部切除。手术切除范围广泛，远端切除可达３０ｍ以上，且能获得较满意的排便功能。制作半环瓣、加强肛直角，可起到类似直肠对粪便的托储作用。术中注意保护植物神经丛，提高了术后的生活质量，手术简单、安全、效果好，是治治疗低位直肠癌保留肛门功能的创新性手术。
Wood surgery is characterized by the removal of internal sphincter and rectum. The range of surgical resection is wide, and distal resection can reach more than 30m, and satisfactory defecation function can be obtained. Making half-rings and strengthening the angle of the anus can play a role in the storage of feces similar to the rectum.
