The progress of thiophene compounds in the field of electro-luminescent materials and photosensitive materials are reviewed. Electroluminescent materials include polymers, oligomers and metal complexes. Photosensitive materials mainly include Gr tzel battery, photodynamic therapy in two aspects. The development prospect and direction of thiophene photoelectric materials are also reviewed
