At the Fifth ASEAN + China + 10 + 1 Conference held in Brunei in November 2001, China and ASEAN officially decided to establish the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area within 10 years. It is expected that this visionary and feasible concept will surely have a profound and far-reaching impact on the economic and trade relations between China and ASEAN and bring about an unprecedented opportunity for the expansion of the economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN.
