1957年夏天,中 共中央军委副主席、 国防部长彭德怀同志 来到山西省城太原视察。这是他自抗战以来的故地重游,也是建国后绝无仅有的一次山西老区之行。 那天,阳光绚丽,百花盛开。几辆小轿车鱼贯而入停在山西省军区大院里。从头一辆车里走出一位鬓发斑白、身材魁梧的老干部,他身着灰色便服,脚穿一双极普通的布鞋,同省军区领导同志握手寒暄。随行的一个警卫员提着一只旧皮箱。人们很快就知道了,这位衣着朴素的老干部,就是闻名中外的彭德怀元帅。
In the summer of 1957 Comrade Peng Dehuai, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister, visited Taiyuan, Shanxi Province for inspection. This is his hometown since the Anti-Japanese War re-visit, but also the only time after the founding of the old district of Shanxi trip. That day, bright sunshine, flowers in full bloom. Several cars flocked to stop in the Shanxi Military Region compound. From the first car out of a wigged white, burly old cadres, he was dressed in gray casual clothes, wearing a pair of very ordinary cloth shoes, hand in hand with the provincial military comrades greeting. A guard accompanied by an old suitcase. People quickly learned that this simple old cadre was the marshal of Peng Dehuai, famous both at home and abroad.
