西周时期的青铜编钟,是与鼎簋齐陈的礼乐重器,也是国势强衰的尺度。雄踞南中国的楚人,兼收并蓄、择优发展的过程,伴随着文化的进步。在音乐方面集中体现为青铜编钟的规模越来越大、性能越来越优良、铸造精美程度越来越高。这除了意味着楚人的国势足以与周王朝分庭抗礼,更为楚文化浪漫主义的特质与风格的体现提供了物质大前提。
The bronze chimes of the Western Zhou Dynasty were the instruments of ceremonies and music in harmony with the dynasties. They were also the measure of strong decline in the country. The Chu people in southern China, eclectic, preferential development process, accompanied by cultural progress. Centralized in the music embodied for the larger and larger scale bronze bells, the performance is getting better and better, casting more and more beautiful. This only means that the national conditions of the Chu people are sufficient to resist the ringleaders of the Zhou dynasty and provide the material premise for the embodiment of the traits and styles of Chu’s romantic culture.
