The topic of my thesis presentation at the conference was “A Preliminary Probe into Translation and Publishing,” in which I talked about whether or not translated works can be abridged. My opinion is that from the perspective of translation and publication science, under certain conditions, abridgement as a means of editing can not be abolished nor abused.
