The article quotes a translation from “E · O”, a poem by Russian poet A. Pushkin, to illustrate the importance of accurately identifying and translating appositives and other modifiers in literary translation. If the translator can not figure out these relations, he will seriously distort the original thought content. The author cites four translation examples to support his own proposition. In conclusion, the author reminded the translators to learn from and learn from the past translation, learn from each other, criticize and self-criticism, and promote the free debate in the translation community. Because only in this way, our translation business will flourish.
