“Lord of the” “is a very common grammatical structure in ancient Chinese. Many scholars have always thought that ”the main meaning“ is a noun phrase, or the function of ”“ is ”to cancel the sentence independence “. Based on the distribution and difference of ”Lord of the Lord “ in ”Historical Records“ and ”On Balance“, this article put forward the viewpoints above. Based on the exhaustive statistics and analysis of the materials of Shiji and Lun Heng (The Balance of Subject) and Lord of the Lord, we propose: (1) Lord of the Rings is a rhyme pattern with different expression functions (Including discussion, exclamation and doubt); (2) the format of ”Lord’s Precepts“ is more commonly used in the discussion of the formal style in the ancient Chinese; (3) The grammar function of ” Sentence independence has nothing to do with it.
