Allergen skin test has been used in the diagnosis of allergic diseases for more than half a century, which is a simple, specific and sensitive method. Over the past decade or so, the serum total IgE has been extensively tested, but there are many factors affecting total IgE. For example, parasitic infections often lead to a significant increase in serum total IgE levels. Therefore, total IgE is not a specific clinical condition in allergic diseases index. In recent years, the overseas use of RAST or ELISA for the determination of specific IgE, which provides a new and specific diagnostic tools for allergic diseases. Based on the establishment of total IgE and specific IgE assays, we measured the levels of total IgE and specific IgE in sera from a group of Artemisia hay fever patients and compared them with skin tests
