Dressing Australia is a pluralistic society. Different clothing worn by people reflects this diversity. Although there is a requirement to wear certain clothing in the workplace, there is no relevant law or regulation regarding dress. Specific occasions include wearing safety boots and safety helmets on construction sites, and wearing uniforms by police, military, or other personnel. Most workplaces have certain dress codes. Outside the workplace, dress is chosen by individuals. Many people choose to dress according to comfort or social situations or weather conditions. Many Australians like to dress casually. Clubs, cinemas and other venues may require participants to be tidy, clean clothes and proper shoes (no sandals).
