在中国近代思想文化的发展历程中,郭嵩焘是一位地位重要而又久被忽视的人物,至今学术界对他仍研究论列不多。其实,他是最早对西方文化亲身加以考察的思想家、以清醒的目光看待国际现实的外交家。他对中西文化的独立思考和深刻体认,不但与当时正统的封建士大夫大相径庭,而且亦非一般洋务派人士所能望其项背。相反,他的思想,却与当时先进的中国人颇多共鸣,许多思想文化观念甚至成为中国近代启蒙大师严复的先导。本文试就他的中西文化观念加以初步探索,并就教于学界前辈。 In the course of the development of Chinese modern ideology and culture, Guo Songtao was an important and long-neglected figure. So far his research on the subject is still limited. In fact, he was the first thinker who personally studied western culture and looked at the diplomats of international realities with a sober eye. His independent thinking and profound recognition of Chinese and Western cultures not only differed from the orthodox feudal monarchy at that time, but it was not something Western foreigners could hope for. On the contrary, his thoughts resonated with the advanced Chinese at that time, and many ideological and cultural concepts even became the precursors of Yan Fu, the enlightenment master of modern China. This article attempts to explore his concept of Chinese and Western cultures to explore and teach in the academic predecessors.
