近年来,人们常把网络媒介称为继报刊、广播、电视之后出现的“第四媒介”。笔者认为这一说法颇为片面,并在去年全国第七次传播学会议上提出要对网络媒介作出正确的定位。事实上,网络媒介已为人类信息传播提供了一个崭新的天地,它是相于对现实世界而存在的人类精神交往的第二世界,而不只是所谓的“第四媒介”而已。上述看法得到了许多与会学者的赞同。在这里我想对此作一些补充阐述。
In recent years, people often refer to the online media as the “fourth medium” after newspapers, radio and television. The author thinks this statement is rather one-sided. He proposed at the Seventh Communications Conference last year that we should make the correct positioning of the online media. In fact, the internet has provided a brand new world for the dissemination of human information. It is the second world of human interaction with the real world, not just the so-called “fourth medium”. This view has been approved by many participating scholars. Here I want to make some supplementary explanations.
