Korean films have a comprehensive and commercial appeal with a strong “class-Hollywood” quality. At the same time, nationalities and authors co-exist. Therefore, domestic sales, overseas awards, and flowers inside the walls are fragrant. Among them, the gang films, which are compatible with bandits, black movies, comedy, action and new genre, are popular with critics for their openness and author’s awareness. This article attempts to sort out the history, development and trend of Korean gang films, and analyzes its unique pursuit of film aesthetics and social observation.
