学界普遍认为燕京大学社会学系受英国功能论人类学影响至深,但是却鲜有研究关注到二者之间的双向互动。实际上,在引进此派学说时,该系师生也并非立即认可与接受,而是经历了一个态度和实际行为上的动态转变过程。他们富有新意地将原本在西方看来相互对立的文化功能论与文化传播论予以糅合,并明确指出英国功能论人类学的几种偏颇与不足。这些努力反映了该系师生探究与理解中国社会的主体性意识和对西方学术理论和方法的反思批判精神,对我们今天的学界也不乏启示和借鉴价值。 Academics generally believe that Yanjing University’s Department of Sociology is deeply influenced by British anthropology, but few studies have focused on the two-way interaction between the two. In fact, when introducing this school theory, teachers and students of this department did not immediately recognize and accept it. Instead, they experienced a dynamic process of change in attitude and actual behavior. They are innovative in their attempt to blend the cultural functionalism and cultural communication that originally appeared to be mutually antagonistic in the West, and clearly point out several biases and deficiencies in anthropological theory of function in Britain. These efforts reflect the teachers ’and students’ subjective awareness of exploring and understanding Chinese society and the critical spirit of reflection and reflections on Western academic theories and methods. There is also no lack of revelation and reference to our academic field today.
