白寿彝先生是我国当代著名的民族史学大家。在民族关系史的研究中,白寿彝先生亦在唯物史观的指导下,强调在统一的多民族国家历史观的指引下,注重民族团结、民族协作、汉民族的主体性以及民族英雄等在民族关系发展中的地位与作用等。在我国较早形成了自己一套比较成熟的马克思主义民族关系史的理论体系,这也进一步促进了我国民族关系史学理论的进步和发展。
