文艺复兴运动是14世纪中叶至17世纪在欧洲发生的思想文化解放运动,在中世纪晚期发源于意大利的佛罗伦萨、米兰和威尼斯,后扩展至欧洲其他一些国家,如法国、英国、西班牙、德国。在诗歌、绘画、雕刻、建筑、音乐各方面均取得了突出的成就。在德国,文艺复兴着重体现在宗教改革、人文主义运动,两者对德国文学产生了内在的、深刻的、漫长的影响。 The Renaissance, a movement for ideological and cultural emancipation that took place in Europe from the mid-14th century to the 17th century, originated in Florence, Milan and Venice of Italy in the late Middle Ages and later extended to other European countries such as France, the United Kingdom, Spain and Germany. In poetry, painting, sculpture, architecture, music has made outstanding achievements in all aspects. In Germany, the Renaissance is mainly reflected in the religious reform and the humanism movement. Both of them have an inherent, profound and long-term impact on German literature.
