漳州蓝氏族原有炎帝、秦献公后代、高辛后代之说。漳浦蓝氏“种玉堂”取义于“蓝田生玉”。其后裔随蓝鼎元在开发台湾中作出很大贡献，为当地望族。“种玉堂”为福建漳浦赤岭蓝氏祠名。其后裔曾随清军东征台湾，在开发台湾、经营东南沿海的过程中作出了贡献。
