Literary works such as novels, if the first-person narration, we often think that the “I” in the text is not necessarily the author himself. For example, Mo Yan said that his “grandmother” had sex with someone in the sorghum and later gave birth to his “bandit father”, and we do not necessarily believe that his family tree is exactly as it stands. However, there is another category of works, such as prose and documentaries. Whether we write fancifully or not, we generally believe in “human beings as the text,” and the author and narrator can be united. But if the author and the narrator’s name are not the same, then in order to respect the author, I usually read such things as fiction.
