I. INTRODUCTION Richard Wright (1908-1960) is one of the most influential American writers in the 20th century and is a landmark figure in the history of African American literature. In his book The Black Child, a classic autobiographical work, Wright reveals the hard life and mental state of the entire Negro population by describing their unforgettable growth.
