郭小川的《望星空》发表于1959年《人民文学》11月号上,是为庆祝建国十周年而作的。1958年秋天他在苏联参加亚非作家会议期间就计划要写这样一首诗,此时他在写给夫人的信中说:“明年十周年,我自己也需要拿出点像样的作品。”从《望星空》后面的 Guo Xiaochuan’s “Starlight Sky” was published in the November issue of “People’s Literature” in 1959 in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. In the autumn of 1958 he planned to write such a poem during the Soviet Union’s participation in Asian-African writers’ meetings.
