有质量的中文影片片名翻译是艺术的要求,也是电影这种文化产品实现商业价值的必然结果,更有益中西文化交流和中国文化的传播。通过对近年中文影片名英译实例的剖析,依据功能对等理论,探究了其英译策略,为中文影片片名英译提供有益经验,更是为了避免不理想英译的覆辙。
Quality translation of Chinese film titles is an artistic requirement. It is also an inevitable result of realizing the commercial value of such a cultural product as the film. It is also beneficial to the exchange of Chinese and Western cultures and the spread of Chinese culture. Through the analysis of the example of English translation of Chinese movie names in recent years, this paper explores the strategies of English translation based on the theory of functional equivalence, which provides useful experience for the English translation of Chinese movie titles. It also avoids the mistakes of English translation.
