According to the International Society of Cardiopulmonary Interventions (ISHLT), around 250 children under 15 years of age worldwide received heart transplants in 1995, accounting for 10% of all heart transplant registrations. In the same age group, about 50 lung transplantations and less than 10 cardiopulmonary transplantation were performed, all less than 5% of the total.
