The practice of salt archeology in the Lubei area can be traced back to the census of cultural relics in Shandong Province in the 1950s and the discovery of a site with a helmet as its main relic. Taking into account the shape characteristics of the helmet and the characteristics of concentrated distribution on the southern bank of the Bohai Sea, the survey report speculated that the “helmet-shaped weapon is a large-scale tool for cooking salt in the sea”. Since entering the 21st century, the archeology of salt archeology along the coast of Laizhou Bay in the north of Shandong Province has continuously made new achievements. A large number of sites for the salt industry workshops have been discovered successively. Especially in 2001 Shouguang Daxian North Central site excavation ~ ②, Lubei and Jiaodong area in 2002 salt archaeological survey ~ ③,
