In the Orientalism, Sayed thinks that the West is a power domination relationship with the East. The East is silent. It does not have the power of self-explanation, does not have the subjective consciousness, can not express itself, and must express itself through the West. He is acutely revealing the East deluded by the “Orientalists” and the “Orientalized Oriental”: The East is a power discourse that embodies the cultural hegemony of the Western world. Oriental Studies fully confirms the necessity of intercultural studies of comparative literature. Said emphasizes the importance of classical texts in the field of culture and proposes that the East is fully capable of expressing himself. This provides a new perspective for comparative literature research.
