Nietzsche and Scheler: A pioneering progenitor of the post-modern era, a phenomenological movement, has given philosophical attention to a factor of resentment as a psychologically negative emotion. Nietzsche revealed and reminded the huge reactionary mechanism of resentment in pedigree. From the perspective of phenomenological sociology, Scheler determined that the core of modern citizen ethics was rooted in resentment. Both agreed that resentment grabbed in the construction of modernity Dominating dominance, leading to Nietzsche’s definition of “moral slave revolt” and Scheler’s interpretation of modern society “subversion of value.” However, instead of discussing the commonality of the two critics of the elements of hate in the construction of modernity, this article attempts to clarify the differences between the two in the Christian morality and Scheler’s misunderstanding of Nietzsche.
