Two typical lake bottom sedimentary columns were collected for comparison. The longitudinal distribution characteristics of trace elements and rare earth elements in sedimentary columns were investigated by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry (ICP-MS). The trace elements in different clusters show different longitudinal distribution characteristics in the two sedimentary columns, and there are obvious differences in the trace elements enrichment horizon, indicating that the enrichment of trace elements in the sedimentary column is related to sedimentary environment and directly affected by the Yangtze River water flow and exchange The affected sedimentary column (S1) has a layer closer to the surface than the sedimentary column (S2) affected by the evolution of the Honghu Lake wetland itself. The longitudinal profiles of REE in two sedimentary columns exhibit similar distribution but different degree of dispersion, indicating that they have the same provenance and different depositional environments. The vertical distribution of trace elements and rare earth elements in sedimentary columns can directly record the impact of modern industrial and agricultural activities on Honghu wetland.
