U.S. begins to use coal to produce methanol U.S. aviation products and chemical companies and Eastman have announced that they will cooperate in the production of methanol projects using coal to produce methanol as a chemical raw material and fuel for power plants. The US Department of Energy invests $9 million in this project. This is the world’s first scientific research project in this area. To implement this project, we will build a demonstration plant for Nissan’s 260t liquid-phase methanol.
