Objective To investigate the application of closed reduction and percutaneous Kirschner wire fixation in the treatment of supracondylar humerus fractures in children. Methods According to random and voluntary principle, 52 cases were selected as treatment group and treated by closed reduction and percutaneous Kirschner wire fixation. 46 cases were treated as control group and treated with closed reduction and plaster external fixation. All were given follow-up treatment. Results X-ray showed that all patients got bony union. The evaluation of elbow function using Flynn criteria showed that the excellent and good rate (94.2%) in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group (78.3%). Conclusion The method has the advantages of minimally invasive, reliable fixation, fast fracture healing and good functional recovery. It is suitable for the treatment of fresh closed straight humeral supracondylar fractures in most children.
