自1999年上半年朱基总理访美之后,中国加入世界贸易组织(WTO)取得重大进展,国内外对此反应热烈。《时事报告》去年第9期刊发了有关部门负责同志和专家撰写的中国加入WTO的专题系列文章,详细介绍了WTO的基本情况。11月15日,中美两国在经过长达13年之久的谈判之后,终于就中国加入WTO问题达成双边协议,中国“入世”取得了关键性进展,并成为举世瞩目的焦点,各行各业和各地干部群众更为关切这一问题。为进一步帮助大家了解中国加入WTO的情况,本刊特发表特约报告员文章,并在“改革与发展”等栏目集中刊发相关稿件,多角度、多侧面介绍世界贸易组织的有关规则以及我国“入世”的利弊等问题,从而使读者正确认识我国“入世”问题,增强参与国际竞争、搞好改革与发展的信心和紧迫感
Since Premier Zhu Rongji visited the United States in the first half of 1999, China’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) has made significant progress. Domestic and foreign countries have responded enthusiastically. The “Current Affairs Report” published in the 9th issue last year was a series of articles on China’s accession to the WTO written by relevant departments responsible for comrades and experts, and gave a detailed introduction to the basic situation of the WTO. On November 15th, after 13 years of negotiations, China and the United States finally reached a bilateral agreement on China’s accession to the WTO. China’s accession to the WTO has made crucial progress and has become the focus of worldwide attention. The industry and cadres and people everywhere are more concerned about this issue. In order to further help everyone understand China’s accession to the WTO, the magazine has published special rapporteur articles, and has published relevant manuscripts in columns such as “Reform and Development”, and has introduced the relevant rules of the World Trade Organization and China’s rules from multiple angles and aspects. Problems such as the advantages and disadvantages of China’s accession to the WTO, so that readers can correctly understand China’s accession to the WTO, enhance their participation in international competition, and improve their confidence and urgency in reform and development.
